“Where can I go from Your Spirit? Or where can I flee from Your presence?
If I ascend to heaven, You are there;
If I make my bed in Sheol, behold, You are there.
If I take the wings of the dawn, If I dwell in the remotest part of the sea,
Even there Your hand will lead me,
And Your right hand will lay hold of me”
Psalm 139:7-10 (NASB)
King David asks this rhetorical question of the Lord, “Where can I go from Your Spirit?” The answer is this : There is no where that we can go that God’s eyes do not see us and God’s hand does not protect us. Every believer in Christ is inhabited by the Holy Spirit of God. Therefore, where we go, He goes with us. David also exults that God’s hand will lead us and His right hand will lay hold of us. The right hand is the hand of power. This is why we see Christ at the right hand of the Father. David is saying to us that there is no place that God’s power cannot hold us, keep us and rescue us. Praise Him today for His omniscience, His care of His children and His limitless power.
