“When they had approached Jerusalem and had come to Bethphage, at the Mount of Olives, then Jesus sent two disciples, saying to them, “Go into the village opposite you, and immediately you will find a donkey tied there and a colt with her; untie them and bring them to Me. If anyone says anything to you, you shall say, ‘The Lord has need of them,’ and immediately he will send them.”

God has prepared beforehand every works that He calls us to. As Christ entered Jerusalem on Palm Sunday, He would fulfill the prophecy of Zechariah 9:9 which foretold that the Messiah would arrive “humble, and mounted on a donkey, Even on a colt, the foal of a donkey.” Before Christ sent two disciples into a nearby village, He had already: Created the animals for His purpose, prepared the animals to be readily found and prepared the heart of their owner to let go of them for God’s service. Even today as we abide in Him, Christ is working in us for His glory, preparing the path before us and teaching us to hold loosely to what we have been given so that when the time comes, we will willingly let it go to advance the Kingdom.
