“But if the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, He who raised Christ Jesus from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through
His Spirit who dwells in you”
Romans 8:11 (NASB)
In the ordinance Baptism, we identify with the death burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ. And though Baptism is a symbolic identification with Christ’s resurrection, the actual power of the resurrection is alive in every believer in the Person of God the Holy Spirit. It is the same power that healed the sick, calmed seas and spoke the universe into existence. This same power raised Christ from the dead. This same power will complete the work of sanctification and allow us to walk in obedience to His commands. This same power is also guarantee that someday we will follow Christ in the resurrection.
