“ He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High
Will abide in the shadow of the Almighty.
I will say to the Lord, “My refuge and my fortress,
My God, in whom I trust!” ”
Psalm 91:1-2 (NASB)
Our God is a protective God. He promises to be with us forever (Mt 28:20). He covers us with His sovereign goodness. King David knew and understood God’s protection very well. He had experienced it in the face of bears, lions, giants and even an angry King. Nothing was able to touch him because God was protecting him. Even Satan himself cannot assault the child of God unless god specifically grants him permission to do so, and even then the devil’;s attacks will result in God’s glory and our good. The Lord is a trustworthy shepherd. Christ demonstrated His willingness to protect His sheep by laying His own life down for us.
