“He has made everything appropriate in its time. He has also set eternity in their heart, yet so that man will not find out the work which God has done from the beginning even to the end. ”
Ecclesiastes 3:11 (NASB)
Solomon reminds that God has made everything appropriate or beautiful in its time. One of the things which sets mankind apart from animals is that God has set within us the concept of eternity. We understand that there must be Someone Who created the universe long before we came to be. We also understand that there is something awaiting us after we die; that this life is not the end. We have a sense of the eternal work of God but by design we are unable grasp it entirely. God has given us this perspective so that we might realize our need to prepare for eternity by trusting in The Eternal Son.
