Now all these things are from God, who reconciled us to Himself through Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation,

2 Cor. 5:18 (NASB)

Have you been called to the ministry? If you are a believer in Christ the answer is a resounding “yes”. Now, that doesn’t mean that every Christian should take up the ministry as a vocation or that every believer should start a church (although some should). Unfortunately, we have become conditioned to think that ministry is something that only the pastor or the elders or the deacons do but Paul reminds us that every believer has been given a ministry that is full-time and that it is vital to the Kingdom. Your ministry and mine is the ministry of reconciliation. Reconciliation means “to be brought into agreement or harmony” with Christ. Simply put, Christ has reconciled us so that we are no longer enemies of God but now have become friends and have been adopted into His family. Our ministry is to share with others how (thru repentance and faith in Christ) they can also be reconciled.

Questions for application…

What does it mean to be “reconciled” to God?

Who has called us to be ministers ?
