“How blessed is the one whom You choose and bring near to You
To dwell in Your courts.
We will be satisfied with the goodness of Your house,
Your holy temple.

Psalm 65:4 (NASB)

God is so amazingly good to His children. Psalm 64:5 promises us that we will be satisfied with the goodness of God’s house. This is great promise in itself however there is much more wonderful truth in the beginning of this verse. What causes us to be in God’s house in the first place? How did we get in a position to be satisfied by His Goodness ? The Psalmist tells us that God first chooses us, then brings us near to Him. Because God is so good, He redeems us not only for His glory but so that we may dwell in His presence and enjoy Him forever.

Questions for application…

What is the promise to those who dwell in God’s house ?

What causes us to be near to God ?
