“Are not five sparrows sold for two cents? Yet not one of them is forgotten before God. Indeed, the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Do not fear; you are more valuable than many sparrows. ”
Luke 12:6-7 (NASB)
Luke 12:6-7 remind us that our God both knows and values us. Jesus tells us that God knows His children so well that even the very hairs of our head are numbered. This demonstrates more than a cursory understanding of us. It demonstrates that God has an intimate knowledge of every detail of our condition at all times. Jesus also tells us that God values us even more than many sparrows. Because we know that God feeds and shelters and sustains these animals we should not worry about the necessities of life but rather trust that He will provide for us as well.
