“Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for He who promised is faithful;”

Heb. 10:23 (NASB)

Webster’s Dictionary defines the word faithful as “firm in adherence to promises or in observance of duty.” This describes our God. He is faithful to His promises. God never changes His mind about us or His affections toward us. In fact He never changes at all. (Num. 23:19). His word tells us that even “If we are faithless, He remains faithful, for He cannot deny Himself.” (2 Tim. 2:13) In a world of uncertainty and change, our God is the constant, unwavering hope of His people. We can hold fast to our confession of Him not because of who we are but because of Who He is.

Questions for application…

What are some promises that God has made to those who trust in Him?

How can understanding His faithful nature help our insecurities?
