And He said to them, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation.”

Mark 16:15 (NASB)

Christ’s command to us in Mark’s Gospel is short and to the point. We can sum up all of evangelism and missions with this one sentence. Jesus began by saying “Go”. Christians are to be “going” people. God did not call us to simply sit and soak up Sunday sermons in our churches and yet never engage the world. We are to “go”. Where are we to go ? Christ tells us that we are to go “into all the world”. That includes every nation and every people group. What are we to go into the all the world and do? We are to preach the Gospel. This isn’t reserved just for pastors or church leaders, every Christian is commissioned to proclaim and be an ambassador of the Gospel. We must preach the gospel because it is the power of god unto salvation (Rom. 1:16). Finally, who are we to preach to? We are to preach to “all creation”. Will everyone be saved ? No, but some will be saved and it is the sovereign plan of God for us to bear the good news of Christ to them so that many might repent and believe on Jesus.

Questions for application…

Am I actively being an ambassador for Christ in the world?

When is the last time that I personally shared the gospel with a lost person?

Why does God use people to be the bearers of His message?
