“Therefore, we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God were making an appeal through us; we beg you on behalf of Christ, be reconciled to God.”

2 Cor. 5:20 (NASB)

We have to remember that God is self-sufficient. He doesn’t need us to testify of Him, but He allows us the honor of being His message bearers. Paul says that we are “ambassadors” for Christ. Everything that we do represents the One Who sent us. Sharing our faith with the lost is not a chore, it is a privilege. An ambassador does not act on his own behalf. An ambassador can only operate with the authority of and at the will of the One he represents. A good ambassador will only say and do those things that give honor to His King. What is the message that King Jesus has entrusted us to share? “Be reconciled to God” through repentance and faith in Christ.

Questions for application…

Why does God use people to be His ambassadors?

How should we represent our King?

What is the message that we have been entrusted to bear?
