“In the exercise of His will He brought us forth by the word of truth, so that we would be a kind of first fruits among His creatures.”
James 1:18 (NASB)
As we abide in Christ we must always remember that it is He Who has brought us to His side. Christ exercised His will in choosing us to be His bride. Christ called us to Himself and “brought us forth” meaning that He caused us to be reborn and to be made new. Why would He do such a thing for us? He did this so that we might be a “first fruits” of creation. God saved us so that we might be His consecrated people, His inheritance, His sons and daughters, joint heirs with Christ of all that He has and a testimony to His love and mercy.
