“O Lord, who may abide in Your tent?
Who may dwell on Your holy hill?
He who walks with integrity, and works righteousness,
and speaks truth in his heart.”

Psalm 15:1-2 (NASB)

The Psalmist qualifies those who may be near to God: Those who walk with integrity, who work righteousness and who speak truth in their heart. Unfortunately, this disqualifies every person (with the exception of Christ) who has ever lived. None of us seek God, none of us are good or truthful (Rom. 3:9-18) and all of our best deeds are as filthy rags (Isa. 64:6). So can any man approach a Holy God? The answer is “yes” ! We can not only approach but boldly approach the throne of God because of the imputed righteousness of Christ. Christ has made a way for us to worship God in Spirit and in truth and to dwell in His presence forever. Today let us boldly approach Him with an offering of praise for Who He is and for what He has done to bring us near to Him.

Questions for application…

What has God done for us to allow us into His Holy presence?

Does God respond differently to the lost and the saved (John 9:31)?
